And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
We have Air Force business jets flying over our house (or close) most days, between 2 and 10 times. Usually at less than 300 ft. A few months ago a C17 started doing the SAME thing, but only once a week, usually at noon on Thursday or Friday. They're always, only going north. They never have transponders on. I live 70 miles west of Nashville. "Training missions."
I wonder how much the wingtip vortex is felt by the people on those balconies. With the slats and flaps down (and blown on the C17) the winglets probably do little to reduce vortexes. Here's a C5 creating a vortex in an FAA study. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXrnGiIMGLs Al_in_Ottawa
Relatives had a house in the Finger Lakes not too far from Griffiss AFB, fighter jets used to fly right over top of the place at a couple hundred feet altitude.
That is the RAAF flying down the river in Brisbane, and the camera angle makes it look closer to the buildings than it really is. There is a lot of room where they fly the demo, as the river is wide there. The RAAF mustangs are stationed at Amberly, just down the road from Brisbane. It is quite dramatic, and loud and builds a lot of good will with the people who paid for those planes.
