And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? On solid hurricane would clean that rock right off
Those Swedish island homes all look alike so they are probably poured concrete so water washes in and out, no problem. Flimsy tropical huts blow down but the natives build them fast.
Yes, but the wise man built his house upon the rock and when the rains fell and the water rose, it stood still. Paraphrasing Matthew 7:24-25, and the Swedish architectural code.
I'm sure all the utilities come from the mainland via underwater lines. It's not that far away from the larger land mass. Ditto for effluent, unless they just "let it go" because the solution to pollution is dilution
Looks like they all signed an HOA agreement.
ReplyDeleteIt don't take them long to mow the lawn.

ReplyDeleteAstol, Sweden

DeleteI think that is Astol Island, Sweden
ReplyDeleteAlways been curious what a good storm is like on these places. Same with tropical retreats build on a barely visible sand bar

ReplyDeleteWhat about water. I see one tank, water fuel? Mendocino is as crowded and on a solid rock as well and there are water towers everywhere.
ReplyDeleteAnd what about wastewater both treatment and disposal.

ReplyDeleteAnd not one convenience store.
ReplyDeleteThere is a market and a cafe, what more could one need?
DeleteImagine living in the middle house with no ocean view...
ReplyDeleteFerries run, it's supposedly a tourist spot for daytrippers.
