And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I remember back when these transparent plastics were first developed, all the cool things they were used for, all kinds of advertising gimmicks too. Rulers, pocket knives, screwdrivers, so on. This is a really neat idea here, I never have come across it before.
When I was a nipper I liked the pens with a girl in a bikini picture on them and when you turned the pen upside down her bikini would slide off. When I was 10 those were very entertaining. You'd usually get them at barber shops or the auto mechanic.
I have a couple of good knives, the one in my pocket at the moment is an SOG "Escape" model, part serrated blade. The logo is on a removable plate the conceals a spare blade. It would be a great place to laser engrave the morse code alphabet (is anyone from the SOG website paying attention here?)
Scout knife possibly??
ReplyDeleteNot an official scout knife, but I remember seeing them when I was a Scout

DeleteAmateur radio operators don't even have to learn Morse code anymore. When the propagation is crappy, nothing gets through like CW.
ReplyDeleteand in the day you had to know tube circuitry.
Deleteon the subject, still around on ebay, this a Camillus, an upper-end brand, smallish, handy, and often a conversation starter.

ReplyDeleteI had a safety whistle clipped under my desk at work (earthquake country) that had the morse code alphabet with it. Never know.
ReplyDeleteI learned that "stuff" while a Boy Scout in the 1950's.
