"We were paddling downriver, battling through a nasty squall of hail and wind, thinking about our camping spot about a mile downriver," she said. "When the hail was just breaking up, we saw the upside-down skull with the lower jaw still attached. The teeth were really white. They stood out."

  1. Look at most maps , especially in our schools, and note how the state of Alaska is displayed. Somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico or even where Mexico should be and so shrunk in actual size to make it seem Alaska is small. Have a cousin that constantly needs reminding Alaska is above the lower 48. To my point, it is a large area with so much to discover and resources to make us all comfortable (can one say petroleum products and coal).

  4. I remember that happening. Spent a lot of time on the North Slope. There’s a whole lot of nothing up there except wind and mosquitoes. I live near Fairbanks; they still haven’t put this in the museum.

  5. Joe Rogan had a show about a goldminer that has found literally hundreds of those heads including many other species. Recommend watching it.
