And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
E. Gun port under the radome, slots in the stabilator leading edge & TV camera in the left wing leading edge. USAF C & D’s didn’t have those. RF-4C & G model noses are shaped differently. Shiny sumbitch tho…must be the hydraulic systems are empty.
Droopy-tailed, bent-wing bug-sucker. That’s what we called them when I was in the USAF. Tough bastard of an airplane, very different from its replacement, the F-15 (USAF) and F-18 (Navy) Wandering Neurons
The pilot in the Phantom sits higher off the ground that the cockpit of the B-17. The two aircraft side by side puts into perspective the advances in aeronautical engineering including engine development.
Yup - that's an echo model. I worked on F4C/D aircraft in the 72-74. Climbing up into the cockpit required a good ladder and a sense of balance as you walked the intakes and rail. And you better not drop that test equipment or that tool box.
F-4. C?

ReplyDeleteI had a flight of 2 RF-4 Recons fly over my convertible at 480 kts at 100 ft. It was impressive.
