And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I drove one like that from NE Nebraska to central Minnesota once delivering watermelons. The neighbor who hired me had me help pick the melons, load them, and then help him deliver them all in a two day period. Very little sleep, had to buy gas on the way back, and then the crooked jerk bounced a check on me with the BS story that they people who purchased the melons bounced a check on him. He was paid in cash. This was just over fifty years ago and I still despise the crook.
