  2. A splash feed 216 cubic inch Six, I wonder? Those engines were amazing. To watch the oil pressure drop to almost nothing at idle was scary. But they seemed to be super dependable for many years.
The little dipper on the bottom of the connecting rod always cracked me up, for some reason.

    1. It was a friend's and IIRC it was a '51 Chevy. But it was almost 50 years ago so I might be fuzzy on the year model.

  3. had a 5 window, no bed (or title). all the handles in the cab were window winders. Taking a sweeping LH turn through an intersection, the outside passenger of two "rolled her window down" and opened the door, flew out to the center of the intersection and landed flat on her can in a sitting position. we were saloon-bound and the delay annoyed me.

  4. Most of those were farm trucks, geared low and the suspension not made for highway driving.
