And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Had a girlfriend who's dad could do that. I wonder sit in his shop for hours watching him work. Girlfriend left me there & went out without me a few times.
By the early 70's it was hard to find a bodyman able or willing to use lead. My dad would charge 2x for people who wanted it. He started in the late 40's. When we did a full paint job on my '65 Mustang, I found both lead and Bondo factory work. IIRC, there was Bondo on the doors, and lead near the fastback window/quarter fender area joints. Had that bad grayish blue paint that peeled on every Ford from that era.
Back when cars were pieces of art. Nowadays it's hard to even tell what brand a car is. Not to mention that 80% are either black, white, silver, or gray.
I like tailfins. My dad had a 63 Volvo P1800 that he drove until the Camaro RS came out. They were about the same size, the P1800 looked cooler, but the RS Camaro was an acceleration monster.
My 3rd grade teacher was a statuesque blonde and drove one of these. Both her and the Caddie were real head turners It was decades later that I learned she had once been Miss Kentucky. -WDS

1960 Coupe DeVille, dad had one in this color with a red leather interior. That was a lot of car!
ReplyDeleteYou could sleep six in that trunk.
ReplyDeleteThe tailfins assured they'd track straight in the grocery store parking lot.
