And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I'll wager that the axles were not the only thing which got upgraded. (I recall a camper van which had a ford V-6 in the back. It needed that power to move all the weight.)
Number 11 is maybe a dozen miles from here. The water is Loch Kishorn, and the hairpins are the Devil's Elbow, above Tornapress on the Applecross road, the Bealach na Ba. Apparently that means the Pass of the Cattle, because it was a drovers' road. I remember it as the Way of the Cattle, imagining a bovine martial arts movie.
The kayak heading towards the water filled arch is at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Michigan's Upper Penninsula . If you could turn the camera to your right there would be nothing between you and the arctic circle but more Lake Superior and a bunch of mostly empty Canada. The water is so clear they have glass bottom boat tours to see all the well preserved ship wrecks. Beautiful place.
CW, this iss GW. Are you feeling okay? Was #14 purposeful, or did you mess up and put in a SOLC, Son of Land Cruiser? I'm Cheap, I'll take what I can get. Thanks, that's a GREAT Open Road Friday edition. #s 1, 10, & 12 are rare beauties.
We got 1/4" of rain here on Wednesday, so I can finally stop coming over to stare at the rain-on-asphalt gif from last week's Open Road. LOL Thank you for always having something interesting!
#14: Call me jaded. My patience for fake tilt crops to make a 45° climb look like an 85° climb are long past. The greenery in the left lower corner gives the game away. D-. #17: Mad props to the Monster Minnie-bago. Bet cornering sucks. Rear entry, or roof hatch? #18: Faith is the evidence of things not seen..."
Some real beauty's attached here sir - Thank You for taking the time to find and post for the rest of us to appreciate them.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure. Glad you enjoy it as much as I enjoy putting it together.
