What a day! GoFundMe went from "We're stealing your money and giving it to Black Lives Matter," to "OK, you can choose the charities we give it to," to "Fill this form to get your money back," to "Here's your money, please take it back, pleeeease

That's because they got a panicked call from their corporate counsel telling them what would happen to them personally and the company as well, if they continued their thieving plan.  I'm sure the advice was pointed and emphatic. The lawyers earned their money if that's what happened.

An example: Possible money laundering under this statute: 18 U.S. Code Section 1956 Laundering of Monetary Instruments

Unbelievably morally blind, these people are.

Never, ever use GoFundMe again, for anything.

  3. NotWokeNotBroke. Somebody should start a conservative fundraising service bearing this name, or maybe .

Anyway, the Canadian Trucker have apparently changed their fundraiser service to GiveSendGo, a Christian-based company.

  6. I have never donated through GoFundMe and never, EVER will. I give directly to charities I research beforehand and keep track of. BTW, I crossed the Salvation Army off my list a while ago. I regularly donated but NO MORE. There are so many other worthy charities, once you're off my list, that's it, I'm moving on.

    1. There's a young girl in Texas that was mauled by two dogs before Christmas. Lost her ears, nose, lips, most of her face. I used GFM to donate to her. Was surprised to learn they don't take any percentage. Gave them an extra five. Say your prayers.

  7. Quite simple sir. They are morally blind because they are lefties. They feel rather than think. Simple.

  8. Don't simply bemoan it, fight back a bit. The GoFundMe page has a web contact form for the press. The beauty of web contact forms is you can put any fake email address and names in you wish. All they have is your IP address and you'd have to be making threats and persistent to get much attention. So keep it tame but use the form to send them a message.

For advanced monkey wrenching submit a refund request for nonexistent contributions. Make them spend time processing that and coming up empty.

  9. Kate at Small Dead Animals had a post up about this early this morning, noting that if people who donated contacted their bank for refunds, not only would GFM have to refund the donation, but GFM would have to pay an additional fee of $15.00 for each refund request. I wonder if that influenced the lawyers, or the purse string holders for GFM. Here's a link if you're interested.

    3. I despise lawyers in general, and criminal defense lawyers and prosecutors especially.

But an ambulance chaser saved my life. A public defender saved my bacon from the local prosecutors. And a property attorney saved me from bad renters. There are good lawyers, just so many who aren't that screw it up for all those who are good.

(and my public defender? big hooters, big big hooters. it was only the seriousness of the situation that kept me from flirting with her.)

  15. I guess GFM never bothered to check news reports about the trucker's rally, just went by police reports of "violence".
