Transiting the Irish Sea - 1986

  1. Looks like a 688 class, to me. Towed array add on port side. Never been there. Irish Sea that is.

    1. Nope you're wrong. The Towed Array is on the STBD side on 688s.

      What we're looking at is a 637, which had its towed Array on the PORT side.

      I'd did 4 637s, 1 688 and work on the boats at one of the Public Ship Yards and have done about 100 availabilities on the 688s.

  2. Been there and it can get as rough as any because the Irish is shallower than the Atlantic and whatever swells come in they get amplified by the shallow water.
