And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Photos such as that make me long for the days when I could go sledding all morning Saturday instead of watching insipid cartoons. That was, in my case, some 50 years ago. Oh, and the young woman is a beauty, but in this case, the sled (and the back drop) is the attraction.
What is SHE doing here? I have seen her hundreds of times at americanaplus, where she is someone's favorite (small wonder), but I have never seen her anywhere else, until now.
I’ve got one FF in this size (made circa early 50s) and a shorter version from about 1960. Both perfectly functional, but showing some wear. We expect snow tomorrow, so maybe I can put my 65 year old body on one and take a ride. Film at eleven?
And despite wearing this coat (whose sole fashion recommendation lies in making her easier to find after a faceplant in a snowbank, and the sight of whose plaid kills 100s of Scotsmen a year from instant apoplexy), this same woman will look at you and ask "You're not going out dressed like that, are you?"
Very attractive, and a wholesome appeal. Nice coat.
ReplyDeleteYou canna beat a Flexible Flyer, jocko.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely and very real. Looks like a fun lady to be around. A long time sledding companion.
