  1. Why slide when you can glide?
Better saw, BIGGER saw, LESS money.

  2. I love mine….Bride got it for me as a present. Dbl bevel, and solid. 5ah batts last all day. Heavy but portable enough which is great when power is not readily available or don’t feel like hauling out the generator for a few cuts.

  3. Agree with others... 12" is better and DOUBLE BEVEL or gtfo.

Trust me.. I own a single bevel.. sucks

  4. OK, experts: what's the best way of preserving the slides? Any I've used always stick exactly when you don't want them to!

    1. 3 in 1 oil but....
Lube causes sawdust to stick, so the slides will always be an issue.
That's part of the reason behind my "glide" suggestion. And then there's a problem with how much room the slides require BEHIND the saw, which is not a problem for the glide. If you're buying a CMS for the first time it's real asy to do it wrong. That's why most serious people have 2, the 2nd one being the one they should have bought first. lol

    2. Thank you, ghostsniper. I just checked the 240v version on Amazon UK - £670 = $878 ffs!

  5. I've been looking at the smaller Metabo version (https://www.amazon.com/Metabo-HPT-C10FSHCTM-Sliding-Compound/dp/B089W3GQHM/ref=sr_1_4?c=ts&keywords=Power+Miter+Saws&qid=1645821846&refinements=p_89%3AMetabo+HPT&rnid=2528832011&s=power-hand-tools&sr=1-4&ts_id=552940).

Decent price, doesn't stick out too far in back, dual bevel. If I decide to get one, that's probably the one I'll go with. The Harbor Freight saw I had previously took up far too much space in my very small shop.
