    1. The number of forward gears and reverse gears is the same, namely 4x4 gears = 16 gears in each direction. The 5-man vehicle crew included a forward driver and a rear driver. This feature, in combination with the gearbox/engine configuration allowed the vehicle to move equally fast in each direction.

  3. The "Panhard EBR" (Engin Blindé de Reconnaissance = armored reconnaissance vehicle) was a pre-WWII design by the French. It was in use from 1950 onwards till way into the early 1980s and it can be counted as one of the most effective designs of the 'armored reconnaissance vehicle' class of that period.
