  3. Loved that flying mini-sub. Making the engineering work would be a bitch, but a fun project!

  4. I refuse to watch any "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" that does NOT have the Flying Sub. One of the coolest designs ever!

  5. Loved the Flying Sub, which was both aerodynamically and hydro-dynamically impossible!

    1. I suspect the shape was loosely copied from Jaque Cousteau's two man mini-sub. I wonder if the first one, that was lost during depth testing, is still floating off the bottom on a tether? They were water jet nozzle powered, with those nozzles on the outboard tip of the wings.

I thought his sub had those vertical tails, but no. Probably would have slowed down being able to rotate in place, by reversing one of the nozzles to spin.
