And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
True, but ask any LEO and they will tell you that, wide right turn or not, having that sign on your trailer does not give the truck driver the right to run over any other vehicle legally in the right lane.
Exactly so. I always found it very frustrating when folks would go past those lines. They are there for a good reason. If you stop past them, you are stopping in the intersection. If I had to make a turn and couldn't because of that, I'd make as much of the turn as I could and just stop and wait for them to either back up or get out of the way. Didn't make a lot of friends doing that though.
A finely executed Williamson turn! Bravo, Bravo!!!
ReplyDeletePrecisely why every trailer has the "THIS VEHICLE MAKES WIDE RIGHT TURNS" with the drawing of a BMW getting squished.

DeleteYou're absolutely correct. It's illegal to swing out into the left lane before turning right, period.
DeleteLook at the lines painted on the street. That intersection is set up for that turn.
