This is a black and white photograph of Charlie Chaplin taken in 1925 by Edward Jean Steichen which has been digitally colorized by Brazilian artist, Marina Amaral. Her name can be found at the bottom left corner of the photo.
There was a story that Chaplin's body was stolen a couple of months after his burial. The snatchers called his wife Oona to demand ransom and she just said "Keep it" and hung up. They kept calling, though, so she got the Swiss police involved and strung them along for a while. Eventually they were caught.
