  3. My stepfather served on this battleship between 1935 and 1939. It was sunk at Pearl Harbor on 12/7/41. He had many pictures of this ship that I looked at as a kid in the 1950s and 1960s.

  4.  it is a range clock to display the range to the target firing for other ships in the group to know.  There are "tick" marks on the side of the BB's turrets called Declination Marks so they would know the elevation to point their guns.
