And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I had always heard that so I started pausing this clip to see...it took a few times but finally got a shot of the car just before it hit the bulldozers. Yep, it is a 67-68 Camaro. Just barely get a glimpse of the taillights.
There was an alternate ending in the beginning of the movie, as I remember, where Kowalski slams on the brakes before hitting the bulldozers and does a 180 and drive past the pursuing cops. It was a difference of several minute. Not sure if that was the minutes he spent with the naked babe riding around on the motorcycle or not. Some say she represented death. I don't know.
That is how I remembered it ending...
ReplyDeleteI love that movie
ReplyDeleteThe car that was used in the end that hit the bulldozers was actually a 1967 Camaro.

DeleteI wonder how many cars they destroyed making the movie.
ReplyDeleteDon't know the actual body count, but I'm sure it wasn't low.
DeleteMy heart breaks for the Jaguar XKE.
