Your Good News of the Day: Missouri governor says he'd pardon St. Louis couple if they are charged for brandishing guns at protesters

Speaking on "The Marc Cox Morning Show" on 97.1 FM in St. Louis, Parson was asked about an investigation Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner launched into Mark and Patricia McCloskey. The two were seen in widely shared footage from June pointing guns at a group of protestors who were walking down their street as part of a demonstration.
The McCloskeys claimed in a police report that they felt threatened by the demonstrators and feared that they would assault them or destroy their property. But Gardner said that she would look into the events, noting at the outset of her probe that "we will not tolerate the use of force against those exercising their First Amendment rights."
Parson strongly pushed back against the impetus for the investigation, saying that the McCloskeys "did what they legally should do."
"A mob does not have the right to charge your property. They had every right to protect themselves," he said.

  1. Pardon an innocent couple for defending their home. What the governor should do is put the dipshit Progressive prosecutor in jail, For life!

    1. Bogsidebunny,

You are clueless about how the legal system works. Sentiments like this are simply releasing hot air.

Now, having said this, I hope that this George Soros-funded prosecutor who appears to be the victim of fetal alcohol system burns in hell. I feel better now.

    2. "Sentiments like this are simply releasing hot air".

I don't need sentiments to release hot air. At my age I fart a lot because it's my way of blowing tepid kisses to society in general

In addition I thank you dear councilor for the kind legal dressing down, I now reside with you in the "feel better" club.

  2. I concur with Bogside! Widen the investigations into prosecutors and mayors and police chiefs into campaign monies and other left weird behavior.

  3. And anyone who says, 'They aren't coming to get your guns, and if they try, the cops won't take them'. Well, this shows that that statement isn't true, doesn't it?
Need to also remember - every time in our history that federal troops have been ordered to violently confront their fellow citizens, they have obeyed those orders.
    Be prepared.

  4. This will merely make it easier for the commie bitch prosecutor to indict them. She literally has nothing to lose, and she will be a hero the Left. The process will be the punishment:

    - Business ruined by being branded a racist. Pardoning them merely confirms this.
    - Law licenses imperiled for same reason.
    - Reputations ruined. Cancel culture will never let them return to normal.

This is the Left's plan for all of us. Tell me again how the "good" LEOs will not obey an order to confiscate our legally owned guns. Between this and their apparently happy enforcement of the nonsensical C19 restrictions, my usual belief on this point has been badly damaged.

  5. It seems to me that the governor has the authority to tell this prosecutor to back off. Am I wrong about that?

  6. The Castle doctrine is law in Missouri and the Antifa mob broke down a gate to gain access to the property. The McCloskeys 2nd and 4th amendment rights were violated by the DA. Notice the McCloskeys haven't been charged with anything as the DA cannot find a law they violated. The McCloskeys were forced to hire armed guards to protect their property after their weapons were illegally seized. Remember the McCloskeys are tort lawyers. I see a very large lawsuit if it is not settled. The Governor is just grabbing 15 minutes of the spotlight for himself.
