Looked fast, went slow.
Like many of its era, the airframe was ready before the proper engines were, resulting in less than designed performance. Still one of the coolest looking X-planes ever.
I wouldn’t want to be bent over tying a bootlace while that was taxiing around!
It currently resides in the US Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio.
Actually, Wright-Paterson Air Force Base, where the Little Green Men are.
Looks pretty mean...until you get to those stubby F-104 style wings
Go look up the X-59 low boom demonstrator. Sometimes whats old is new again.
