And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. As with any sailboat, all one has to do is open your hand and let out the mainsheet. OTOH, if it's a race, you tell those lazy bas#tards to get to the high side in order to flatten the heel.
If the boom is in the water, as it appears to be here, slacking the main sheet is ineffective. The only hop is for enough rudder in the water to bear off.
