Sno-White Drive-ins, founded in the early 1950s, once numbered around 200 in Northern California. This one's in Modesto.

  2. "Snow White"? Isn't that racist? when I was growing up in NJ back in the day we had "White Mana" Diners. I guess they were racist along with us customers too.

  3. I actually worked at a Sno-White Drive In in San Jose many years ago, I was a clean up boy then worked up to cook. That brings back memories...

  5. "The Sno-White Drive-in chain was founded in Stockton, CA in the 1950s. By the mid-1960s, there were about 200 locations in California and two in Guam. I believe the locations shown here are from the early 1960s. The only remaining location that I know of that is older is the one in Madera, CA. The last Sno-White was built in 1965."
