And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? 60 years young, my friend, and I recall my citified debutante mother using that phrase endlessly through my dirty, skinned-kneed, privileged childhood in the 'burbs. Never thanked her enough for that old-school wisdom. Oh, and rub a little dirt on it...
That phrase went through my mind seeing the pic, before I saw the comments. "Over the course of a lifetime you'll eat a peck of dirt." Try not to do it all at once though. And yes, my rugrat days were in the 1950's.
