And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Saw this post, immediately thought of Max Ward, bush pilot, airline owner (Ward Air), raconteur, real man. It took guts, skill and good ole luck to fly in the Arctic and the bush in the 20's, 30's 40's and 50's. Contemporary of Ernie Boffa.

ReplyDeleteSadly a Beaver like that was involved in a mid-air collision with a Cessna 206 over a lake in Idaho this weekend. All 8 souls in both planes lost.

ReplyDeleteNope, it's a Beaver. an Otter is a longer plane. Flew with Ward Air many times from Juneau out to Snettisham Hydro.
