Classic

  1. I had a 70 Cuda in 1979 when I was a senior in high school. It was a 440 4V 4-speed 4:10 posi rear no frills car. Top speed was 105ish and it got there about a car length past a quarter mile.

I had a female cousin a year younger. That her dad shoe-horned a more than stock 426 Hemi with a auto transmission and posi 3:23 into a Plymouth Twister. My Cuda was stupid quick. She was quicker and the auto tranny shifted from second to third at 95mph where it squatted to make 110 in the quarter walking away from me as I was topped out. Both got crap for gas mileage.

  2. I prefer my 7th gen "hemi" Charger. stock 370hp 395 torque, of course I've messed with it and added catbacks and a cold air intake. Stupid fun and all wheel drive to boot. Oh and top speed is a theoretical 168mph with a few people reporting 175mph.

  3. Had a friend in '70 who traded his '67 Camarro for a 70' Challenger 340 6 pack automatic with a slapstick shifter in Panther Pink with the blackout kit in the rear window....pretty quick for a small V8....would've loved a hemi Cuda' back then....that Challenger would probably go for a pretty penny at auction today....haven't seen one like that in decades....

  4. Had a '70 340 Duster that would outrun about everything but the HiPo's Motorolas.
