And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? What bart s. said above. Rugby's brutal enough without barbed wire. Ask me how I know! (well, actually, played two games when I was young and skinny, because they could throw me into the scrum and pull most of me out if I got the ball. The things I did for a better grade in summer session Calc 1...)
My buddies and I used to play it, but we called it "combat football". Someone always wound up in the hospital. Usually it was a concussion, or a broken rib...
Spartan race? Love your blog. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of my Army basic training infiltration course. Note the barbed wire.
ReplyDeleteNot me - we did EVERYTHING in combat boots.
DeleteAbsolutely on the combat boots
