And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Acoma Pueblo is a Native American pueblo approximately 60 miles west of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Believed to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the United States, the pueblo was built sometime between 1100 and 1250 A.D. It is well known for its beautiful pottery.

ReplyDeleteI remember visiting Acoma as kid in the 60's. Beautiful place. Situated on a mesa.
ReplyDeleteI used to live in Albuquerque and went by Acoma many times on the way to Durango Colorado.
