And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I was on the first GPS ship. It was a test ship for the CNO. We spent many many hours anchored off the beach by the Hotel Del Coronado waiting for the satellites to get above he horizon and give us a fix, and having the bridge watch meant I could see the traffic in and out of San Diego well into the night. Back then the landings continued but the airport was closed to outbound traffic after 10pm. One could see the airliners stacked up 7 or 8 high with their landing lights on.
It looks like a sci-fi clip, doesn't it. But it's the here and now. Where do we go from here?
