"Chances for a broad immigration bill to pass this year took a major hit Thursday when House Speaker John A. Boehner ruled out any action until President Obama proves to Republicans’ satisfaction that he is serious about enforcing the laws and no longer will try to work around Congress.
Just a week after Mr. Boehner appeared to jump-start chances for immigration by releasing House Republican principles for a bill, his comments erased most of that momentum."
There is simply nothing as depressing as a party leadership so blind and stupid that they want to change the political subject from perhaps the worst executed big government program ever enacted, to something that will instead reward lawbreakers for their criminal actions, add millions to the voter rolls who will nearly all vote against what you believe in, and who will pressure the already distressed middle class from below.
Is it any wonder that a grass roots movement called the Tea Party has exploded on the scene?
At least this time these true idiots have seen the cliff coming, and pulled back from the brink. Who knows, however, what their next maneuver will be.
a few years ago a textile plant in woodfin nc had abot fifty illegals working for them.they were making I thinke uniforms for the military.they were busted the managers said he couldn't get natives to work there the next day over three hundred people showed up for the jobs.but the manager and the company were not punished in any significant way and thre is the root of the problem the employers get away with it.if a few were locked up in the general population of our state jail it woulnt be long and the illegals would be out of work and gone home.we have meet the enemy and he is us your friend truckwilkins
ReplyDeleteExactly correct. Here, back when the building boom was going on, all the construction companies hired illegals. Those were good jobs Americans would do, but hey, illegals will work for a third of the money, and won't demand benefits. It's up to us to pressure our elected officials on this, as the businessmen will certainly do that, with checkbooks wide open.
Deletewhy is there never a public discussion on what would be the optimum number of people in this country?
ReplyDeletehow bout what illegal immigration does to their home countires?are we not robbing these countries of the very people who would make a difernce at home.they are dissatisedvied wth the status quo,ambitious.hardwoking.
the reason fidel is still in charge is because all the counter revolutionarys are in Miami maybe if the illegals were sent home things would change in their home countrys

Ed Abbey used to say every illegal should be escorted to the border, equipped with a good WInchester and couple of boxes of ammo, and sent on their way to solve their problems in the traditional Mexican fashion. Seems like that's still good advice. How quickly do you think the Mexican authorities would act to halt illegal immigration from their side if we actually started doing that?

ReplyDeleteJust mind boggling.
