And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Spider tanks
They'd be almost as good at psychological warfare as regular tank warfare.
They would have to be able to go with a couple legs blown off, however, to be in any way practical.
I dunno - make some of these as cheap, lightly armed and armoured drones. Send them ahead of the main force to freak out the enemy. While the enemy is busy knocking these out, use your other forces to outflank and destroy the enemy.
