Seems like it should be further away than that.

  1. No, that's a real pic. I believe you can see a few of Saturn's moons scattered around it. Saved to the archive.

    1. Colors are stretched a bit to get that red and blue in the moon's surface, but those are very neat things to watch happening. The moon slides between us and Saturn and over the space of an hour or so, it blocks out Saturn completely so that all you see is the moon. Then Saturn appears on the other limb of the moon.

  3. i took the same shot with a LXD55 in a video. Saturn rising. mine was before 24, 96 or 97 i think.
