Forgot something, like lowering the landing gear. Otherwise, nicely done.

  3. If they knew the gear was NO then why didn't they kill the engine before impact, that plane is a write off.

    1. Because having power is better than not having power. That 3 blade prop was gonna get bent either way.

What happens if he has to abort the landing because, say an overzealous crash truck obstructed the runway? That's actually happened. The insurance company already owns the engine.

    2. A prop strike with the engine running can destroy the crankshaft and total the engine.

    3. FAA requires the engine be opened up after a propstrike.

    4. Once the gear won't come down, the aircraft belongs to the insurance company anyway, why endanger yourself if you need to abort the landing? The prop is gonna windmill , and thus the engine is gonna be damaged and require a teardown and IRAN anyway, under power or not.

  4. That's that Grob with gear malfunction. Same aircraft had same problem in 2016 and 2021. Training aircraft used by Lufthansa in AZ.
It's as fine a landing as a pilot would want given the circumstance.
