And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Having many chisels, both Western and Japanese, I find that Japanese chisels just feel better when working wood, and I love the way that they sharpen. The Japanese got for maximum sharpness, while most high-quality Western chisels accept a lower sharpness for a longer-lasting edge. A good Japanese chisel gets its edge back in an amazingly short amount of time, so they end up being much more fun to use. But I recommend Coving and Sons (https://covingtonandsons.com/) or Suzuki Tools (https://suzukitool.com/tools/japanese-woodworking-tools/japanese-chisels) for much better tools. Buy once, cry once, and use them your whole life. Then pass them down to the next generation.
I want one of these: https://templetoolco.com/products/japanese-bent-neck-chisel-kote-nomi
I see various YouTube woodworkers using it, and it looks really useful. The price tag is a bit much for a casual purchase though. Maybe I'll get it as a Christmas present for myself.
