And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Chinese naval bullies crash into each other while trying to harass Philippine boat in Philippine waters. Captain Ding Bang Ow say, "Head will woll!"
The captains Shi Tau Luck and Har’ To Lee forgot to eat their fortune cookies that morning. Rumor has it that when you go to a Chinese restaurant and do not eat the fortune cookie, you lose your fortune and bad luck will follow! Sum Dum Fuk, a spokesman for the Chinese Navy, quoting Confucius said: “A little wong turn can make big shipwreck!” Xi Jinping blamed Trump and added “That’s the way the fortune cookie crumbles.”
In a test of culture in Shanghai around 1995 and knowing that if drivers made eye contact with pedestrians in their way - any resulting impact would be the fault of the pedestrian (because, face) - my buddy walked into traffic on a very busy street (Nanjing Xi Lu, if you must know) one evening and staring straight ahead - and all the taxis and other vehicles braked or swerved to avoid running him over. True story. Alcohol may have been involved. In the years since, traffic rules and pedestrian crossings have improved to the point where this could not be done today. Likely due to CCTV surveillance EVERYWHERE & fear of consequences for infractions, people follow the speed limits and obey traffic & crossing signals for the most part.
China is going to do this crap to the wrong captain of the wrong boat one day and they will have FA&FO the hard way. They DO NOT own the entirety of the South China Sea, regardless of what they claim. They'd push right up to the Philippine shore if not checked.
What is unremarked here is the consummate skill of the Filipino captain as he lured that Chinese CG vessel right smack into the path of that frigate, which couldn't maneuver out of the way. The Chinese CG thought they would steam alongside with their fire monitor trained on their target and wreak some havoc on the Filipinos. But the Filipinos had a bit more speed reserve, and kept just ahead, then baited them very nicely. Good for them.
The crushed bow on the cuttter AND the hole in the DD were both pretty impressive to see and a sign both ships were built below minimum standards (tofu-dreg) to my eyes. Not a good sign for ship survival if ordnance starts flying.
You have to wonder what the lookouts were screaming on both PLAN ships just before impact, and if they finally just got behind something solid and braced for the impact. The guys below deck had no idea until somebody on the bridge hit the collision alarm (or at least I hope they did). A sudden stop on a ship can kill more than the poor bastards in the spaces that got crushed or penetrated.
Target fixation and not understanding how much speed reserve the Philippine ship had all the time combined to set up the own-goal.
Two captains will lose their commands (and possibly their lives) and maybe the PLAN will scale back the bumper-car games, but that isn't likely. They will do something stupid to gain back face.
The chinks have never been outstanding sailors.
