And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I lived in Bucks County, PA for 30 years. Near town of New Hope, is the 60 mile long Delaware Canal and foot path that was a mule barge canal back in the 1830's when coal would be barged down to Philadelphia. It is now (when it's filled with water) a place to canoe and kayak. There is a walking / running path that runs on the side of the canal. This image looks like that.
I've seen sights like that on the North River in Massachusetts. Those Lowes plastic patio benches in a few places, for sitting side by side. No mosquitoes, salt water tidal river.
I know a spot like that in a National Forest and I ain't tellin' where it is.

ReplyDeleteBeen to a canal in Metamora Indiana, historic area. Looks similar. Forget the canal name, haven't lived near there since Pontius was a Pilate.
DeleteSounds like the canal that runs from D.C. to WV. Used to ride my bike there many years ago
DeleteSorry, Aviator's joke.
