Every Adult Male Should Have The Equivalent Of This Pair

  1. Sound reason made there. A .45ACP and .357 Magnum handgun solves a lot of problems, especially 'social'.

  3. Just sold mine. I’m old and none of my kids want them. Still have a couple of .45s and a .44 mag so I’m good.

  4. My S&W Models 27 and 686 paired with a 1911A-1 go everywhere.

    1. Absolutely agree. Was about to get the 686 when the ban came in.

  8. 357 for sure but personally would choose 9mm for the auto…

    1. Same here. On the 1911 I would go up to a 38Super but the palm pinch of 45ACP and 10mm I can do without. My favorite revolver is my S&W 62-4. For a 45 it would be the Glock 37 45GAP which shoots the same 45ACP slug and its standard velocity is equivalent to 45ACP +P. I would select the Glock G20 over the G37. My 15 round G20 10mm would be my first choice.

    2. @Tsquared
the wife has tender hands but she can fire several full magazines of my 10mm handloads (accurately) without a problem using gloves; remodeling the grips might help as well

    3. My dad was a 1911 fan. I have probably shot every variation of 1911 up until the 1980's. I did change the grips but they were to Glocks. My range gun for the past 7 years is a Colt Govt in 9mm.

  9. I appreciate the sentiment but it sure is cheaper to shoot a 22 LR just to stay in practice!

    1. Get a .22 conversion kit for the 1911. I got one from Kimber, and it works great.

  13. The Colt is good to go, but do I HAVE to get the lock on my S&W like that does ? I'd rather pay a bit of a premium and get the non lock (just above cylinder release) pictured above). I know it doesn't effect performance but when I need to use in a hurry, don't want to worry if its locked and unusable.

    1. Just get an old Smith & Wesson made before the lawyers did their thing. Every Smith & Wesson we (my bride and I) own is a vintage model w/o the lock. I love them all.

    2. Be advised that Smiff is ditching the lock. Already did it on some of the J-frames and the rest of the line is to follow. Now whether or not they improve the appearance of the recent bland wood, TBD.

  14. Really prefer Dan Wessons, imho ...

  15. Sorry to disagree but I view this as a good start .

  16. The 1911 is in the mud room and the .357 is sitting in the F-250.

  17. I gave the mod. 19 and 66 to the kids. I do like a 45 1911-A1. No Hillary Hole for me.
