And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. Yep, B-25. I got to look inside one at Long Beach Airport back in the 50’s when I was a kid. It had been converted to an executive plane, but still was quite a sight.
Still a great journey on Amtrak's Coast Starlight but the route is now from LA's Union Station to Seattle. Background looks like Central California near San Luis Obispo or Paso Robles.
I am pretty sure that this is the same model of bomber (B-25) that Doolittle took on the 1942 bombing raid on Tokyo.

ReplyDeleteAnd below the B-25 is a Southern Pacific GS-4 Daylight on the Coast Route to Southern California. Beautiful plane, beautiful train.

DeleteThe loco looks like a Juratovic painting; but he usually accompanied with classic cars.
ReplyDeleteSure would like a 3'x5' of that print hanging in my shop.
