And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Ceramic can be good, better than that poisonous Teflon, but it still requires care. Rubber / silicon utensils only, wooden spoons carefully, metal never - and be careful in the sink. Always use a cooking oil. Ours has done pretty well over about 7-8 years but is now starting to give out the non-stick quality, even though we've been super careful. I still mostly use the cast iron.
"Poisonous" Teflon is an inert compound. It is only dangerous for canaries that some idiot leaves in the kitchen and then grossly overheat the pan and burn off the inert coating.
I don't care what they do to make a better skillet. Cast iron will never be outdone. I have a couple that are a hundred years old or more and have only gotten better.
Yeah, nothing sticks to the pan except for those two plugs holding the handle. They get caked up in the crevice requiring scrubbing! Cast iron is much better.
I spent my entire working career buying and selling housewares and more importantly cookware. I do not play the lotto, but I do know and undestand an awful lot about cookware.

ReplyDeleteBuy La Creuset, made in Yemassee, SC. Sans PTFE. Sadly, no escaped monkeys were hired there.
ReplyDeleteLe Creuset is cast in China and enamel coated in France then shipped to their US warehouse in South Carolina.
DeleteJohn is all knowing! What are tonight's lottery numbers, dear Sir? Be quick about it.
