And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Buick made some incredible machines in their heyday
Had a '59 Buick Electra - great traction with that large trunk. Went to visit my uncle once after a heavy rain. He said the road I took had already gotten several 4WD vehicles stuck on it.
My dad would always bring home a new Chevy station wagon for the family (my mother's) car. One year, he went up to Detroit (from Washington, DC) and brought home a different station wagon. This one had these weird port holes on the side of the front fender. While it was not a Chevrolet, it was a cool car.
A 1958 Buick had 85 feet of chrome when removed and laid end to end.
ReplyDeleteJust guessing but a 1958 Olds Starfire might be in that league....Gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteHarley Earl was a design genius. No such auto as an Electra. Deuce & A Quarter, yes.

true enough thoughts on old Burricks but an '87 or so Grand National is nothing to look down at.
