And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Ditto on tying those on after a certain age, but tying them on using forceps still works for me. My first thought when I saw this was the guy is either an idiot or filthy rich. Trip over a rock in the dark and lose that, you are talking several thousand dollars or more of flies... Being a poor idiot, I never carry more than a dozen. If nothing hits on them or if I lose them, it's time to go home.
Looks like he plans to lose a few. I have a plastic organizer hanging on the wall I fill during the winter. Just grab a dozen or so, fill my pocket box & go.
At this stage with all i have done to my hands i cant even comprehend the dexterity involved in being able to tie one of those to the end of my line.
ReplyDeleteYeah, a size 24, the shakes, bad eyes, standing in pushy water can be a struggle, and usually it's when the fish decide to rise with abandon.
ReplyDeleteMade by Asian kids who are brutally abused and routinely starved if they don’t meet there daily quotas….
ReplyDeleteUmmm, NO! My box looks exactly like that one, same midges and worms. ALL hand tied, by ME!

ReplyDeleteroughly 1200 of them
ReplyDeleteIf you're frailing at home waters you only need a few.
ReplyDeleteI remember reading somewhere years ago, "flies are for fisherman". I took that to mean that tying is an unnecessary but very fun part of the game.

ReplyDeleteHe's only just filled it and hasn't been fishing yet. No flybox is that pristine except at that moment.
