And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Reminds me of the opening scene in Star Wars: A New Hope with the star destroyer overtaking the little rebel ship. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRX4JFWffkM
I grew up in Tustin, Ca where the largest wooden structured blimp structures were built in 1942...17 stories high, 1,000 feet long and 300 feet wide. School field trips were a popular event.
They're still there. They shoot TV and movie bits in them from time to time.
Coupla years back, buncha drunk teens broke in, climbed on top outside, were too drunk to get down, and had to be rescued by FD helo. That stunt was good for a multi-thousand-dollar bill for service, fines all around, and some jail time.
Looks like either Akron or Macon.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't we see them any more?
ReplyDeleteSeems like we seen them a lot when I was a kid, 60 years ago.
Because they all fared about as well as the LZ Hindenburg in actual service.
