And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. 1880-1910 ... Standing studio portrait of two Native American Ute men identified as Geronimo and Vincent.
Hey! Is that that white man's blanket used for daylight savings time he's holding? The blanket where the white guys running this country, cut a foot off one end, sew it on the other end, and call the blanket longer?
I am only aware of ONE American Indian named "Geronimo," and he was chief of the Chiricahua Apache tribe, not the Ute.
ReplyDeletePerhaps that name was popular all over the West?
Geronimo is a Spanish name. It’s the Spanish version of Jerome, as in St. Jerome.
DeleteGeronimo wasn't actually a chief but the War Shaman. Coloradas Mangas and Juh were 2 of the chiefs at the time.
ReplyDeleteI am 1/16 Ute. There is the Utah Ute's and the Colorado Ute's. I am Colorado Ute.
ReplyDeleteVincent is thinking about a starry, starry night.
ReplyDeleteBoth look pretty tuff fellows, guy on the left looks like he is pretty rugged. Got some serious high cheek bones.

ReplyDeleteI'd rather have them on my side than against me.
