And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
How times have changed. Back in the day, the Japanese committed untold atrocities on the Chinese people. Now the Chinese are riding on Japanese motorcycles.
The Inner Mongolian campaign in the period from 1933 to 1936 were part of the ongoing invasion of northern China by the Empire of Japan prior to the official start of hostilities in the Second Sino-Japanese War.
Do maybe the Mongols are not Chinese per se, their property butts up to China and the Japs devastated them as well.
Too bad we'll never get a modern version of Knightriders where guys like this go up against English Knights and Polish hussars on European bikes. I'd pay to see that in theatres

ReplyDeleteLet alone the long bow.
DeleteIIRC, some bikes for police use had a left hand throttle, so the officer could shoot while riding, pre ww2.
