And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Your caption beat me to it. I've read about sheep men that utilize three different breeds of guard dogs that form three different perimeters around their flocks, at a distance, intermediate and among the flock. I thought that was pretty brilliant.
We have a herd of goats and three Great Pyrenees that live among the herd. Our oldest female dog lives in the pen with our billy goat and they are pretty friendly, even playing zoomies together. Our two puppies (7 months old) are in with the nannies and yearling kids. They get along fine, but they aren’t really friendly. At night, the goats go into barns and the dogs play in the barnyards.
If they were that happy, they'd be puttin' out.
