And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My friend in Maine tried for years up in those long winters living in two TeePees, one for sleeping and other for his kitchen and food storage. Tried it all on his own, gave it up cause by himself the amount of work, particularly enough fire wood to get thru to late spring simply wore him out. Still likes them for the warmer seasons. To his credit he did everything old fashioned except using a chainsaw, hand split the logs. Said if he had to chop up trees by hand making firewood was all he would do all year to have enough to get by. Had a small TP set up for chickens, shoot a moose, and catch trouts in his creek, he ate pretty well, made beer and hard cider too. Pretty interesting character.
