And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I've been so fortunate to experience mornings like this with a couple of friends for the last 40 years. We have spent 10 days each year backpacking all over the Western US and have seen amazing views, climbed Glorious Mountains and returned home with many stories to tell. We started in our 30's and we will continue as long as our bodies will let us!
