  2. I thought it was a Stearman until I saw the extra wing strut and the strut for the horizontal stabilizer. It's a Naval Aircraft Factory N3N.

  3. AKA Yellow Peril, they have one hanging from the ceiling at the NAS Pensacola Museum of Naval Aviation. Must see bucket list destination. Plan on a few days to see some of it.

    Yes, N3N Yellow Peril. My father learned to fly in one of those at USNA. He told me the stick was so sensitive that oversteering could flip the thing and you'd auger right in. There are shots of these on the flightline guarding Hanford and used for bombing practice runs at a winery here in the Lower Valley. Nice place with lots of aircraft images.
