Solid, but not in California

  1. A bright red door of old meant that the premises was debt free.

  2. Red doors are also a Canadian custom.
Ground floor windows without bars, front door with big panes of glass and no security door ... not a secure home. Clearly NOT California. Or quite few other places in the US.

  3. Google Lens says it's in Washington DC

    1. That is not possible. Hannity, Trump and every other right wing talking head have taught me that American cities are unsafe hellholes populated by gangs and criminals that only rape and murder. No one in their right minds would have such an "unprotected" home in such a place!

Ooooorrrrr...... hear me out. Maybe we have been lied to and American cities are not all ravaged and controlled by MS13 and Taliban-chinese terrorists. Maybe cities in America are safe enough for people not to need bars on every opening... maybe

    2. I don't know who this "annie" (immediately above) is but the vast majority of the American cities are "controlled" by the moral less, limp writ and totally clueless libtards. The cities are fetid swamps of vial degradation and total mayhem.

I am guessing that the photo was taken many years ago before tens of millions of illegals invaded our once great nation and before less-than-mental-giant law enforcement "officials" decriminalized untoward behavior thus enabling criminals to further destroy our cities.

    3. It's in the Hillsdale sub-division

    4. I lived in NW Washington (Glover Park) for several years. For whatever reason, I never visited Anacostia or the SE part of the city (including Hillsdale). I remember hearing that the SE was "not-so-nice" (like the Northeast) ... but that may have changed in the intervening years.

    5. I got lost in SE at night one time. There was a cop on every corner.

  4. I'm not American but an acquaintance whose dad was in our army did an exchange to the US (worked in DC) at least 35 years ago when said acquaintance was about 12. He said they were told don't go beyond some street as it was dangerous - maybe a mile from the centee? While it may be true, I visited the US for 2 months in 1981 and loved the place - a magnificent collection of states.

  5. Let's see grew up just east of the South Bronx, college in MPLS, worked in Houston, Chicago and Peoria. Democrat bastions all and there were small nice enclaves and war zones. Chicago having the most areas not to go too during the day and most during the night. The Uniparty want the populace scared so they look to big daddy gov't for protection. Just give us a little bit of your freedom and you won't get hurt too much or we promise to eat you last.
