  1. It's been looking like that for the last eight days here in North Maine.
This year, we've been in a weather pattern that dumps snow south of us while we get Alberta clippers coming through that leave us with a couple inches of snow and sub-zero temps. There is barely enough snow to groom the snowmobile trails.

  2. I have been to Lassen in May a day or two after they had opened the park and the visitors' center. Beautiful views up there.

    1. Thanks for posting this as it brings back memories with my Grandmother who lived in Redding after living in Auburn for many years.

  4. Just checked wolfcreekski.com. Near my favorite vacation destination.
Website claims 119" of snow year-to-date. I'm assuming they are referring to ski season, not calendar year.

  5. Did the summit of Lassen in 1979. Had an F-16 circle the peak below us.

  6. Back in the day, road trips in my van, whoever was with me, riding from Seattle south. I'd stop at Burney Falls so we could take showers. Then the rangers got wise and wanted money $. Dang-it.
Campsites were too close even back then. We would stay at Subway Caves.
Got a rise out of my sister when I turned off the lantern in the cave. I'm the big brother.......(;+)......
